Waitlist Dogs
These dogs aren’t with us yet, but they’re waiting for someone to step up so we can bring them into rescue. The dogs listed here are looking for a safe place to land. Many specifically need a foster-to-adopt home, though foster homes are also needed.
By opening your home, you may be the reason we can say yes to a dog who’s still waiting.
Foster-to-adopt means welcoming a dog into your home as their foster with the intention of adopting them. Instead of moving from a foster home to an adopter later, the dog comes straight to you and can begin settling into what we hope will become their forever home.
By choosing to foster-to-adopt, you help us preserve a valuable foster home for another dog in need while also giving your dog one less transition to make. We support foster-to-adopt homes just as we do our regular foster homes, including covering approved veterinary care and other foster expenses while the dog is in our care.
If your heart says yes and you’re ready to commit, foster-to-adopt can be a wonderful way to give a dog a direct path from waiting for rescue to finally being home.
If you’re interested in one of our waitlist dogs, please reach out to your adoption coordinator, fill out an application here or send us a message.
*These dogs are on our waiting list for rescue intake but aren't yet in our care. Current owners can decide to keep their dog any time before a dog enters our care. All details shared about dogs on our waiting list come directly from the current owner. In most cases, Great Lakes Boxer Rescue has not independently verified all information.
