Fostering a Boxer.

   BIG Responsibility

           BIG Rewards!

What you need to know...

Fostering is a highly rewarding experience. All of our dogs are placed in foster homes for a minimum of 3 weeks so that our foster families can feel out the dogs and get to know them as best as possible. By doing this, we are better able to pair our dogs with forever families.

GLBR does not have a shelter or kennel facility so all of our dogs live in foster homes. We provide all of the vetting and do our best to cover the monthly expenses of food, heart worm preventative, flea/tick preventative, and some toys. It is up to our foster home to provide the tender loving care that the dogs deserve! We have a vast network of volunteers that consists of trainers, vet techs, and dog owners that can help guide the foster home through any medical or behavioral issues that may arise. We do our best to match a dog up to a foster home that will set the dog up for success and eventually adoption!

Our foster base covers an extensive area and because our network is relatively large, we are able to accept foster homes across the state of Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois!

If you are interested in becoming a foster for GLBR please fill out the application below and one of our coordinators will be in touch!

"As a GLBR foster family my husband and I have had the joy of working with hopeful and adorable boxers getting ready for their forever homes. GLBR provides endless support for us as fosters, really respecting what works and what doesn't when matching us to a foster boxer. Any concerns we have are responded to right away and they are there to support us with guidance or next steps whenever we reach out. I have worked with a number of rescues and GLBR has got their stuff together. Their mission is clearly the lives of the boxer dogs and the respect and appreciation they show to their volunteers makes the organization really stand out."
