Great Lakes
Boxer Rescue
Our History
Great Lakes Boxer Rescue began in fall of 2014. Shelley started the rescue and became official on September 15, 2014. After 6 years of dedication, Shelley stepped down from the rescue and Amy and Darian stepped up to take over. A board of directors has been established and the rescue is run on the premise of teamwork! Initially GLBR only serviced Michigan, but it has expanded over the last decade and now has volunteers and adopters all throughout Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois as well! GLBR also now partners with several other rescues and works diligently to save as many dogs as we can, even if it means helping transport dogs to these partner rescues! Over the last decade GLBR has touched the lives of over a thousand dogs, whether they came through the rescue, or we assisted in placing them with our rescue partners.
